What would Jesus do? I ask my daughters that a lot, when they are faced with life's difficult situations, WWJD? They sometimes think I am joking, but more often than not they think I am a little nuts. But what I hope is going to happen is that one day, when they are faced with a situation, that will be the question they ask, WWJD?
Living a life like Jesus is not easy, but it is very fulfilling. I wouldn't live my life any other way now.
How do you start? Baby steps, always start with baby steps. Try wishing a great day to your regular coffee shop worker, open a door, tell someone that they look great, sometimes doing something nice for someone else starts you on the way to wanting to do it more often. Pray, you can do this silently or out loud, by yourself or with your better half. Take 10 minutes every day to just talk to God, then remember to listen, that is the most important thing, learn to listen to God, sometimes He will let you know loud and clear, and sometimes he whispers, but he will always let you know what to do.
Then, if you are so inclined, find a church. Go to a few, don't feel responsible to a church if you aren't comfortable. I had been going to a church for about a year, but never really felt connected to any one there, so, I started another church, one closer to me and filled with a parish that makes me feel good. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the other church, it just wasn't for me. But this new church? Fantabulous! The Pastor is top notch, as is his right hand man, the music is amazing and the sermon's are always great. Our Pastor, you can just tell, he is friends with Jesus, and at the end of the day, that is what I want, to be friends with Jesus.
So, the next time you are faced with a multitude of decisions, ask yourself, WWJD, What would Jesus do? and relax and enjoy the ride. :)
Ciao Bella's, until next time.
